Power of Surrender by: Deborah Deras

Today, my sweet husband, Ennio was laid off  his job as a photo technician after twele years as a faithful employee. The first words out of his mouth when he called me up to tell me was, “I have good news for you, I am not going to work nights anymore….. I was laid off today”.

After a moment of panic my next thought was that his higher power was able to do for him what he was not able do for himself. He had wanted to change jobs for several years now however his fear of change and comfort level in the position kept him stuck. He really wanted a position with upward mobility where he could showcase his unique talents as an artist. Since the photo industry has drastically shifted from printing to digital for the past six months he was given the night shift 5pm-2am making it difficult for us to spend time together. In order to upgrade his skills he began talking classes in Adobe Photo Shop and Illustrator.

His good spirits and enthusiasm reminded me why I adore him so much. He truly practices what I preach and it is just so effortless for him to choose to see the blessing in a situation rather than stress over it. The next morning he awoke to find out someone had broken into his car in an attempt to steal his stereo right out in front of our home. This was the first time any crime had been committed in our neighborhood in years. He laughed it off and had the glass fixed later that day as it rained and poured in sunny California. Later that day we ordered lunch to go to strategize his next plan of action and when we got home his lunch was forgotten and mine was in the bag. We laughed and he just totally surrendered to the fact that this was not his week. He cheerfully smiled in a state of complete surrender knowing he would find something better. He has a job interview tomorrow which will hopefully allow him to begin a career utilizing his creative talents.

Only through the Power of Surrender can we create a life of ease and grace.

7 Keys: To avoid just "doing" at the expense of "being"

  1. Always keep the end in mind.  Remember "why" you are doing what you are doing.
  2. Take time to breathe!  It will center you and keep you present.
  3. Make planning a priority.  You will do less and have more time to just be.
  4. Schedule regular breaks to recharge your batteries and gain perspective.
  5. Do things you enjoy for no reason at all. It's good to do let go of your agendas and just "be".
  6. Get physical.  It helps move you out of your head and brings you into the present.
  7. Keep a gratitude journal.  Write down 10 things you are grateful for daily.

Hypnosis - A powerful tool to make lasting changes in your habits, emotional triggers and associations.

Deborah and I trained to be hypnotists because of our recognition of the power of the subconscious mind to control so much of our behavior.

Our conscious mind is responsible for reasoning, decision-making and will power. However it represents just 12% of our mind.  The other 88% represents our subscoscious mind.  Hypnosis allows us to access our subconscious mind to change these patterns with the conscious mind still present.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool to change behavior.  You can use it to reduce stress, lose weight, quit smoking, enhance performance, overcome fears and phobias, sleep better and increase your powers of focus, concentration and memory.

Recently Jim and I purchased Positive Changes Hypnosis Center of Fullerton which specializes in weight loss, smoking and stress reduction. To find out more call 714-525-1700.
